Addiction of Social Media activities very Dangerous for Real Life.

Are you addicted to social networking sites? Generally, this addiction is caused as social media activity proves to be a stimulant for your brain’s pleasure centres. But, addiction to social media can take a toll on your health as it comes with numerous side effects.

Here are some of the negative effects social media addiction has on your health.

1. Limited intellectual growth:
Social media activity generally involves viewing photos, commenting on them or reading comments, reading status messages etc. When you get addicted to social media, these things constantly occupy your mind and hinder your intellectual development. This happens because your preoccupation keeps you away from learning new things, and reading or studying something that generates value. Social media addiction interferes with the development of your brain and reduces your ability to concentrate on any task.

2. Pain or cramps in the thumbs:
Overuse of your thumb for typing on a mobile device can occur due to social media addiction. This in turn leads to consequences like chronic pain or cramps in your thumbs, which may result into calluses (thickening or hardening of your skin).

3. Low self-esteem:
Social media addiction can lead to lower self-esteem as it makes you compare your life with that of other people. This creates an inferiority complex among most people as social media updates always project that their friends’ have a better life than them. In 2012, a team of researchers from UK conducted a study on social media users. The study revealed that out of 53% people whose behaviour had been influenced by social media addiction, 51% accepted that it diminished their confidence level.

4. Lack of attention:
Remaining active on social media sites can result in decreased attentiveness and concentration levels, which are considered to be early symptoms of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder or ADHD. This happens due to the fact that constant use of social media websites creates a habit in people of switching from one task to another at short intervals. This has a negative impact on your attention span as you cannot concentrate on a single task for a long time.

5. Fatigue:
Social media addiction is responsible for tiring your brain because of availability of too much information in a short duration of time. The brain often fails to process so much of information at such a short amount of time, which can completely exhaust you by the end of the day.

Simple Things You Can Do Every Day to be Healthier

I wish to share this useful article received through email for the benefit of all health watchers:

As we embark on voyage No. 2016 that will last for 12 months, let us review our life style and habits to consider any changes that may fine tune our health and make us lead more productive life.

The  way we live is significantly linked to our health and well-being, and here's where our habits come to play.  Remember that getting into good daily habits now will be reflected positively on your health later on. So here are 21 refreshing tips you could use.

1.According to studies, the aroma given off by orange peel or orange essential oil may help improve moods, boost alertness, and reduce stress levels. You may apply the essential oil to the wrist and the temples for the same effect.

2.Whether you have trouble sleeping or not, the scent of lavender can work as aromatherapy, helping you sleep deeper and more peacefully.

3.Eating well is all about what you eat, as well as how you eat it. Instead of gorging on food in front of a computer or TV screen, find some time to make lunch time more peaceful and less rushed. Focusing on what you are eating may help tame the nasty habit of overeating.

4.Flossing your teeth will improve the health of your gums, the freshness of your breath, and the overall hygiene of your mouth. I bet you've heard it a hundred times before, but if you're still ignoring it, now's probably the best time to consider the advice. And did you know it has also been found to help prevent heart disease?

5. We spend a great deal of our days looking at screens. This may cause a strain on our eyes, especially if this is done for a long time. This rule says that we should take a 20 second break every 20 minutes by looking away from the screen into a distance of 20 ft (6 meters).

6.The hustle and bustle of our days can sometimes drain our energy and leave us with no time for ourselves. But when you start to find time for meditation, and really appreciating the moment, you won't want to go back. This only demands 10 minutes of your day or less, but it will make a huge difference in many ways.

7.Having a sedentary lifestyle is unhealthy for your bones and muscles, no matter how old you may be - so an occasional stretch here and there is almost necessary. And don't you worry - you don't have to be an experienced yogi to be able to stretch your limbs and find time for it.

8.If your office is too far away to get there on foot, you can still create a reason to use your legs a little more than usual. By getting off the bus or train one or two stops early, you will be able to enjoy some fresh morning air and reap the physical and psychological benefits that walking offers.

9.Herbal teas can be beneficial for several health-related matters, including energy, sleep, and digestion. Pick the ones you need the most and get into the habit of sipping on them instead of your morning coffee.

10.If  you've spent a whole day looking at a computer screen at work, do your body a favor and disconnect for some time, especially before you sleep.

11.Lack of sleep is one of the causes of stress-related symptoms. Avoid straining your body by giving it enough rest. And if you think you'll get carried away doing one of your late night chores, set an alarm to remind you of your much-needed bed time.

12.Pamper yourself with an exfoliating natural scrub made of only 2 ingredients - sea salt (or sugar) and olive oil. Learn how to make it here.

13.Are you aware of the way you are sitting at your desk at work? Make sure your computer is positioned the right distance away from your eyes and your table is of the perfect height. Take a look at this ergonomic guide to avoid developing posture problems in the future.

14.Why take the elevator when taking the stairs can serve as some quick physical activity? Prioritize the health of your body and circulation by opting for a little climb, especially if working at an office.

15.If you've found some time to cook a healthy meal, why not double the portion and leave some for the coming days? Pre-preparing healthy food from days before has been said to encourage you to eat healthier, as it saves you from having to prepare it every day.

16.Make the most out of the day's sunlight and the outside air by taking your lunch break outside, instead of staying in the same building for hours. Apart from giving your eyes and nose a break, you'll also be boosting your mood and increasing your productivity.

17. This is where you should start from if you're looking to reduce your sugar intake. Put a little less sugar or sweetener each time you have tea or coffee and keep reducing it till you cut it off completely.

18.Veggies are just as important as fruit are, and although we might not consume them in the same way, this smoothie provides an easy way to do so. Ensure your veggie intake by preparing some processed greens, including spinach, cucumber, chard, and kale  - and leave some for tomorrow!

19.Avoid consuming hidden salt, fat and sugar when buying ready-made bought meals and make your own instead. Cooking at home is both cheaper and healthier.

20.Stay hydrated throughout your day by keeping a water bottle on hand. Opt for the more durable glass or steel ones, rather than those made of plastic.

Cholesterol is finally officially removed from Naughty List

Really sorry that I kept away from my blogging activity since Sep.15 due to my taking up some thankless job which has swallowed most of my time. As I have now come to my daughter's place in Hyderabad to spend some days with her family  I am now relieved from that job and I wish to resume my hobby of blogging once again.

So far all of us are worried about cholesterol levels in our body and taking medicines to control the levels as per the advice of doctors, Now read this interesting article which has a different dimension on cholesterol levels:

The US government has finally accepted that cholesterol is not a 'nutrient of concern', doing a U-turn on their warnings

In the meantime of 40 years US Drug Industry in connivance with Health Department made over 1.5 trillion US Dollars by selling cholesterol lowering drugs. This fear probably caused death of a million gulliable citizen who believe the US drug industry.

Cholesterol has been on the "naughty" list of nutrients for nearly 40 years, with health officials warning us to stay away from high-cholesterol foods since the 1970s to avoid heart disease and clogged arteries.

"Full-fat dairy products and avocados are high in good fats."

But US officials have finally given the green light for a U-turn on previous warnings, which means eggs, butter, full-fat dairy products, nuts, coconut oil and meat have now been classified as "safe" and have been officially removed from the "nutrients of concern" list.

The US Department of Agriculture, which is responsible for updating the guidelines every five years, stated in its findings for 2015: "Previously, the Dietary Guidelines for Americans recommended that cholesterol intake be limited to no more than 300 mg/day.

"The 2015 DGAC will not bring forward this recommendation because available evidence shows no appreciable relationship between consumption of dietary cholesterol and serum (blood) cholesterol, consistent with the AHA/ACC (American Heart Association / American College of Cardiology) report.

"Cholesterol is not a nutrient of concern for overconsumption."

"Eggs are no longer on the 'naughty list'. "

The Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee will, in response, no longer warn people against eating high-cholesterol foods and will instead focus on sugar as the main substance of dietary concern.

The 70s, 80s and 90s were the 'non fat' years, with the government warning people to limit the amount of high-cholesterol foods in their diets to avoid heart disease and strokes.

But nutritionists and scientists have long been campaigning for the U-turn, which started with introducing "good cholesterols" back into the 'safe zone'.

US cardiologist Dr Steven Nissen said: "It's the right decision. We got the dietary guidelines wrong. They've been wrong for decades."

He estimated that about 20 per cent of cholesterol levels in your blood come from your diet, which means the rest is produced by your liver and is actually needed by the body.

Dr Chris Masterjohn added:“Since we cannot possibly eat enough cholesterol to use for our bodies’ daily functions, our bodies make their own.

"When we eat more foods rich in this compound, our bodies make less. If we deprive ourselves of foods high in cholesterol - such as eggs, butter, and liver - our body revs up its cholesterol synthesis."

"Nuts were previously thought to contain too much cholesterol."

Sugar has now been identified as the "worst" food culprit for health problems, with doctors now focusing on weaning patients off the sweet stuff.

Cardiologist Dr Aseem Malhotra, who works with group Action On Sugar, says a clamp-down on the food industry is next.

He said: "It's very clear that added sugar has absolutely no nutritional value whatsoever and, contrary to what the food industry want you to believe, the body doesn't require any carbohydrate for energy from added sugar.

"And we know the food industry have been spiking our food with added sugars. We also know that carbohydrates and particularly refined carbohydrates - so carbohydrates that lack fibre, sugar being one of them - have the biggest impact on insulin in terms of surges of insulin in our body. And insulin is a fat storing hormone." So, in summary, ditch your skinny latte for a full-fat latte and get some avocados down you.
The Real Truth about Cholesterol
The majority of the cholesterol in you is produced by your liver. Your brain is primarily made up from cholesterol.  It is essential for nerve cells to function. Cholesterol is the basis for the creation of all the steroid hormones, including estrogen, testosterone, and corticosteroids.  High cholesterol in the body is a clear indication which shows the liver of the individual is in good health.
Dr. George V. Mann M.D. associate director of the Framingham study for the  incidence and prevalence of cardiovascular disease (CVD) and its risk factors states: "Saturated fats and cholesterol in the diet are not the cause of coronary heart disease. That myth is the greatest deception of the century, perhaps of any century"

Cholesterol is the biggest medical scam of all time.
There is no such thing as bad Cholesterol!  Men of science have abandoned truth for money. Attempting to control cholesterol is a very, very dangerous practice that occurs in every hospital and medical clinic daily.

"Statin Drugs Actually Increase Heart Disease"

So you can stop trying to change your Cholesterol level. Studies prove beyond a doubt, cholesterol doesn't cause heart disease and it won't stop a heart attack.  The majority of people that have heart attacks have normal cholesterol levels.
THE GREAT CHOLESTEROL SCAM
By K.L. Carlson, MBA
Cholesterol guidelines have been created to increase pharmaceutical profits, not to improve peoples’ health.  I know from my experience as a pharmaceutical sales representative for a statin drug.  We were trained to emphasize to physicians the new lower LDL guidelines that were ostensibly created by health experts. The truth is the majority of the experts who created the lower guidelines have multiple financial ties to pharmaceutical companies.  One expert was found to have ties to ten drug firms

OUR BODY NEEDS 950 mg OF CHOLESTEROL FOR DAILY METABOLISM AND  THE LIVER IS THE MAIN PRODUCER. ONLY 15% OF CHOLESTEROL IS BEING  DONATED BY THE FOOD WE EAT.  If the fat content is less in our food we eat, our livergot to work more to maintain the level at 950 mg.  If the cholesterol level is high in our body, it shows the liver is working perfect.  Experts say that there is nothing like LDL or HDL.
Cholesterol is not found to create block any where in human body.  Why does it create block only in heart, where as calcium sediments create
Block all over the body .. for example kidney, pancreas. Urinary bladder, gall bladder etc etc
THE ABOVE ARTICLE HAS BEEN COMPILED BY ME FROM SELECT ARTICLES ON CHOLESTEROL. COMMENTS FROM MEDICAL EXPERTS IF THEY HAVE DIFFERENT VIEWS ON THE SUBJECT ARE MOST WELCOME.
